Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet SARA: 10 Year Old Yellow Female Lab Spayed 65 Pounds
Sara came to Lab Rescue through the San Francisco SPCA. She was a breeding dog in Grass Valley and the breeder’s husband died and had to give up all her dogs. Sara came in with 12 other yellow females.
All of the dogs come from champion breeding. Sara is a very sweet dog that loves getting attention and riding in the car. She is a mellow girl but still loves to go for walks. She will settle in on her bed after a walk and be happy just to hang out with you the rest of the day. She has been crated and we feel she would do well in a home after she knows the routine; she is housebroken. She does fine when left alone.
What Sara’s Foster says:
Sara is a gentle, sweet girl that knows basic commands and is responsive to training – treat motivated! Sara will “wait” to exit doors and to get her meals. She walks well on leash. Sara sleeps in a crate, with the door open, through the night. While Sara likes to be with her people and will follow them around the house, she is also content napping on her bed. Sara can be left alone in the house with no worries of destructive behavior. Sara will alert bark when someone comes to the door. Sara was a breeding dog, spending 10 years in a kennel environment. Due to this, Sara did not have the opportunity to interact with many people or dogs outside of the breeding operation. As a result, Sara gets anxious when meeting new people and dogs. Sara gets along well the foster’s daughter’s male lab, after being properly introduced, but Sara would be happy to have her people all to herself (along with belly rubs!) Sara is the type of dog that if you are her leader she would do fine with other dogs on walks but if you let Sara lead then she will bark at the other dogs she comes across.
Sara is microchipped, spayed, and is current on vaccinations and heartworm, flea and tick prevention. She is one healthy girl.
Sara is located in Danville.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
