Facts about Toffee & Sandy

  • Species: Guinea Pig
  • Color: Multi
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 17-01-04/05
  • Hair: Long
Toffee and Sandy are a bonded pair of female guinea pigs who would love to meet you! Toffee is about 4 years old and is brown, black and white Abyssinian. Sandy also is 4 years old and is a beige and white Abyssinian. Both girls are a little shy but love attention and adore lap time and cuddles.

The piggies were taken in by someone who felt sorry for them when she saw them advertised as giveaways on Craigslist. However, due to family health issues, she could not keep the girls and surrendered them to the Rescue.

Toffee and Sandy have an excellent appetite and enjoy fresh vegetables, piles of hay and Oxbow Cavy Performance pellets every day. The pair will need to live in a Cubes and Coroplast cage of at least 2 cubes by 4 cubes and be in a family part of the house so everyone can enjoy their company. We also ask that anyone adopting them lives a reasonable driving distance from Rockville, MD.

The adoption fee for Toffee and Sandy will be $70 as they are both intact females. If you are interested in finding out more about adopting this sweet pair of guinea pigs, please send an e-mail to guineapigs@smallangelsrescue.org.

About Small Angels Rescue Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

Small Angels was founded in fall of 2003 when the organizers recognized a need for a group to help small animals abandoned at animal shelters. The Rescue was founded as a way to move these animals into foster homes for socialization and proper, attentive care, as well as streamline the adoption process and provide accurate, thorough information to adopters about these often misunderstood animals.

Small Angels is a 501(3)(3) nonprofit, no‐kill, all‐volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming guinea pigs, rats, mice, hamsters and gerbils. Animals are acquired directly via public surrenders and from local shelters and animal welfare groups. We use an extensive network of foster homes to care for the animals until we can find them a forever home.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Small Angels Rescue does not have a physical shelter—we care for animals through our network of foster care homes. We have monthly adoption events at the Frederick Petco and various Bark locations in Montgomery County. Not all breeds are brought to adoption events. Most adoptions take place at the animal's foster home or at an animal coordinator's house.

Our Adoption Process...

Small Angels Rescue’s adoption process is straightforward. Adopters must fill out an adoption application. There is an application for guinea pigs and a separate application for other animals. Once we have the completed application, we interview the adopter by phone or e-mail to clear up any questions and concerns about the application—including whether the adopter meets our cage requirements and has the proper supplies—and to ensure that the adopter has all of the information needed to properly care for the animal. At the time of adoption, adopters must sign an adoption contract.

Adoption fees: Mice, Gerbils, Hamsters & Rats: $10 each for the first three animals, then $5 each thereafter. Guinea Pigs: $35 each unaltered, $45 neutered males, $55 spayed females.
