Bowie's Story...
About Bowie
Bowie loves to wrestle and play with his brother, Elton. His favorite toy is his “Stick” (a cut piece of a milkshake straw) that he carries around in his mouth like a dog, then drops and bats it around until he carries it off again. He likes to chase a feather wand and if you pull it up he will jump high to try to catch it.
He is a very sweet boy who will follow you around and rub his head on your leg until you pick him up and give him some loving. He likes belly rubs and will also walk all over you rubbing his head against you. He is just adorable and will bring lots of love and laughter into your home. Please consider adopting him with Elton. His approximate birth date is 4/11/16. He is good with other cats and just hasn’t been around dogs to see yet.

You can meet and visit with many of our cats at the AARF House (311 Harvey St, Winston Salem) during our adoption fair hours. Go to www.aarfanimals.org for information about our adoption fair hours and adoption process.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bowie, a Winston-Salem Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Winston-Salem, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Winston-Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Winston-Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Winston-Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Winston-Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
