Sugar's Story...
About Sugar
Sugar is a solid white female with light green eyes who truly is as sweet as sugar. She was rescued from a local animal control where her owners had abandoned her. She is an outgoing and affectionate girl who loves to be around people and generally tolerates other cats but would be happiest in a home either as an only cat or with older less active cats. She would make a wonderful companion for anyone looking for someone to love. Sugar still has lots of loving left to give. She is thought to have been born in 2008, is spayed, FIV/FELV negative and current on shots.

You can meet and visit with many of our cats at the AARF House (311 Harvey St, Winston Salem) during our adoption fair hours. Go to www.aarfanimals.org for information about our adoption fair hours and adoption process.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sugar, a Winston-Salem Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Winston-Salem, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Winston-Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Winston-Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Winston-Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Winston-Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
