Facts about SOPHIE

  • Breed: Shepherd (Unknown Type)
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn - With Black
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Beautiful Sophie spent her life on a tether, chained outside. She was rescued and is enjoying life off the tether. Sophie is spayed, up to date on shots and is ready to be a part of a family who will love her with all of their heart. She is 7 to 10 years old and ready to enjoy the freedom of long walks, hikes, and lots of love. Sophie is very affectionate, and loves to snuggle up next to you. Sophie will be going to Basic Training for 6 weeks to help with adjusting from a life spent on a tether outside to a life with a loving family. She has been cat tested, and passed. She did great with a recent meet and greet with a male dog. Sophie loves car rides, she loves to feel the wind on her face. Sophie’s ideal forever home would be active, so she can enjoy her freedom.

Sophie was recently diagnosed with mammary carcinoma. She had surgery to remove the mammary tumor. It was determined to be a low grade tumor and the vet feels she removed all the tumor. However, just as people do when they have breast cancer, Sophie will need to be monitored over the years.

Please open your heart and your home to this wonderful loving girl, and give her the life she deserves in a home surrounded by love. To meet Sophie call J at 435.773.5209.

Her adoption fee is $125. She is spayed, current on her vaccinations, had surgery to remove a malignant breast tumor and is microchipped.

About Because Animals Matter

About Our Rescue Group...

BAM is a nonprofit, animal welfare group dedicated to reducing animal abuse and neglect through education. We also help support our local shelters by taking animals into foster care. BAM does not have a shelter or public facility. All of our animals stay in homes of caring individuals who volunteer their time to help socialize and train them so they are ready for their new families. We are willing to transport our animals any where in the US if the family is the right fit.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

Donations can be made made on Facebook and at our web page.

Come Meet Our Pets...

BAM has adoption events every month in S.W. Utah. Watch Facebook and our web page for dates and location. We do not have a facility and all of our pets are lovingly cared for in private foster homes. Arrangements to see the pet you are interested in much be made with the foster parent.

Our Adoption Process...

Adopting a forever friend can be easy. Just call or e-mail and we can make arrangements for a personal visit. Phone lines are open between 9am-4pm, if no one is available be sure to leave a detailed, clear message with name and phone number. Our animals are healthy, up to date on their shots and spayed or neutered. Adoption fees range from $0 to $200. This may differ depending on breed and the age of the dog. Adoption fees cover the costs for spay/neuter, shots and some training provided while the animal is in foster care.
