Hi, I'm Snoopy, a really sweet, loving 30 pound, moderately active Pointer mix kinda guy.  I'm still a pup at less than a year old, and my foster estimates my final weight to be about 45-50 pounds.  I play well with other dogs, I'm not aggressive to cats, and will probably do well with older considerate kids since I'm going to be a big guy.  I really like to be close to and touched by my people.  I'm moderately active but am also content to lay down with a toy or a chewy.  I'm really learning a lot of new things and love that 1 on 1 training I'm getting.  I'm learning to walk on a leash, sit, down and come "here".  I'm also learning my house manners.  You will need to continue my training using patience and caring so that we can bond and be best friends.  My foster says I crate well, but will occasionally sing the lonesome dog crate blues.  I do quiet down once my adoring fans let me know how much my singing is appreciated (my foster calls it a correction).  I love being with my family and being involved in all the family activities. Another canine companion would be great for when the family is busy with school and work.  Please come see me on Saturday at Petco, I'm so ready for my forever home.

Adopter for Snoopy must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old.  A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home.

Adoption Fee for Snoopy is $175.

About Second Chance Pets

About Our Rescue Group...

Second Chance Pets (SCP) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 animal welfare organization dedicated to providing unwanted pets a second chance through foster care and pet adoption programs, educating the public about proper care for their own animals and about animal welfare issues, and working with the public, other rescue groups, and public officials to help resolve the problem of animal overpopulation.

Come Meet Our Pets...

SCP does not have a shelter or an office location. The rescued pets, volunteers, fosters, and adopters who comprise SCP come from all over the Galveston Bay area (mainly north Galveston and south Harris counties). Most animals are fostered and loved in volunteer homes until a permanent home is found.

SCP has cats and dogs available for adoption every Saturday at the Petco store at Bay Area Boulevard and Space Center Boulevard. A few cats may be seen during the week at the Petco location

Our Adoption Process...

Potential adopters must complete applications so that volunteers can help adopters identify cats and dogs that will fit best in their homes. SCP volunteers review the applications and discuss pet care responsibilities with potential adopters. The adoption donation typically starts at $95 for cats and $125 for dogs.

SCP tries to ensure that all pets are healthy at the time of adoption. All are examined by veterinarians when they enter the program. All are vaccinated, spayed, neutered, de-wormed, tested/treated for parasites and disease (such as heartworms, fleas, leukemia and FIV) as needed. Cats are vaccinated for FVRCP-C and FeLV. Dogs are vaccinated for DHLPP and Corona virus. Animals are kept in foster homes when available to minimize exposure to disease and to help them be well-adjusted. It is the policy of SCP that no cat or dog may be sent to a permanent home before it is fully vetted, including spay or neuter. All of our rescued animals are microchipped.
