My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! I’m glad you are checking out my page! I’m Singer Cartwright and it’s great to meet you. I’m looking for a new family to call my own! Could it be you?

Here’s my stats:
Possible Breed: Lhasa Apso
Gender: I’m a male, an hombre, a guy
Colors: Cream
Age: The vet says about 8
Weight: 13 pounds

Special Needs: If I’m asleep, call me or rattle the treats, don’t reach down and touch me. It scares me and I don’t react well (he says sheepishly) Once I’m good and awake, you can pick me up.

Ideal Home: I would do best in a home with another quiet, calm dog, maybe middle aged or older like myself. Or, I would be fine as your one and only pup.

Now for the good stuff!-
I’m a distinguished gentleman. I like to spend time with my person but also enjoy time to myself. One thing I really likes to do is find a spot under a bed or in a closet to chill. I am a very sweet, affectionate dog that loves to be petted and loved on and then go take a nap. I can get frisky and play, but not too often.

I’ve been treated for heartworms with no complications. When I walk I do a little hop and jump that the vet calls ataxia. And I have mild cataracts at about the normal stage for my middle age. When you first get to know me, I don’t really want you to fiddle with my face but once I trust you, it’s okay.
His Foster mom says, “I think Singer has the prettiest face and smile. He does not bark much and is quiet. He does participate with my other dogs if they are outside barking. :)”

Start the process of adopting me or one of the other pups by filling out the application found at www.shihtzu-rescue.com.
PS. I've had ALL my vetting, and oh boy, it was a lot. Here's what I had done:
Distemper/Parvo shots – TWICE. One shot doesn't cut it.
Bordetella shots - ALSO TWICE.
Spay/Neuter-of course.
A fecal exam so I don't have any bad worms. Treatment if I do.
A heartworm test. Treatment if I am positive for heart worms
BLOODWORK to make sure my liver and kidneys are working well, because you know, we doggies often have issues in the liver and kidneys.
A DENTAL exam AND cleaning if I needed it- yep, all my toofies are checked out.
See, that's a LOT. Ask your vet - that's a LOT.
