My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MIMI is a 3 year old spayed black female Lab who weighs 45 pounds. Mimi is settling in well with her fosters and is enjoying her new foster brother. She did well in the crate for a few hours today. Loves all the squeaky toys and slept thru the night next to our bed with no problems. She is very smart, and takes treats gently. She knows some commands and is working on learning more. She settled down nicely after a good play session, and slept in her crate last night with no problems. She doesn't love being in the crate, but as long as it is close to her people, she's fine with it. Mimi is incredibly loving and wants to make people happy. She would make a great playmate for another young energetic dog that is about her size or bigger (she's medium sized, around 50 lbs). She has a strong prey drive, so no cats or other critters for her (including small dogs - she confuses fluffy ones for squirrels!). She would be awesome for someone who would like to take her running, as she thinks that is super fun. Mimi is approved for kids ages 10+.

Update: Mimi is doing great. Has made herself right at home at her foster. She hasn't had any accidents in the house. She doesn't bark much except for a alerting us when someone knocks on the door. Mimi is very gentle loves our neighbors kids and loves to say hello to people on our walks. She loves playing with the neighborhood dogs and she's quite the swimmer.

Update: Mimi has really settled in nicely, and can go to a home as an only dog. She and the resident dog do play outside, but inside she's a lazy girl who just wants to chew her bone. Mimi would probably enjoy trips to the dog park, or a yard that she could run and play fetch in. She's definitely a people dog and loves her humans!

Update:: Mimi recently showed her foster family that she loves to swim! She would love a home with a water view! Watch her here: https://youtu.be/gjBSEGNmrPs and here: https://youtu.be/u9Aoo_aekuI

Update: Mimi is doing great and really making herself at home enjoying her puppy playmates and toys and being on squirrel patrol. Watch her here: https://youtu.be/VwAjcODt23A

Update; Mimi is such a sweet girl. She can be a bit timid around men at first, but if you go slow with her, she learns to trust. She gets along well with her foster brother. She walks well on leash, but does get distracted easily by squirrels and birds. She would probably enjoy agilty - during her walk the other day, she chose to leap a 3 foot cement barrier rather than follow her foster mom around it. She is super calm and lays around most of the time with some playing once she's had her walk to expel her energy. She isn't a huge fan of the crate, but will go in with a treat. She is a super sweet girl!
