Rodie's Story...
Rodie is a very sweet young dog. This poor baby was picked up off a busy road, very thin, covered in ticks and fleas. She also had an injury to back left leg. We are in the process of getting her healthy and putting some weight on her. She was heart worm negative, but did test positive for ehrlichia, a tick fever in dogs. She is on antibiotics for this and is starting to show improvement. In spite all she has been through she is extremely calm and sweet. She loves attention, other animals, walks well on a leash and seems very smart. She will be ready for adoption soon. If you would like more information, please contact SCHS at 870-269-5200 or come see her in Mountain View, Arkansas. You can also go on-line and complete an application at schspets.org. UPDATE: Rodie has improved dramatically. Her skin has improved, the back leg injury is an old injury and she is walking well and she has gained weight. She is so friendly and ready for a good home. She also has a ridge of furry hair on her back. Her room mate is a puppy that she loves, but gets along great with dogs and cats.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rodie, a Mountain View Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Border Collie for sale in Mountain View, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Mountain View.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mountain View already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mountain View breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Border Collie breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mountain View paves the way for another one to be saved.
