Kirk's Story...
Kirk (born 6/26/2016) is an adorable mixed breed male. He is gentle giant; big bones and paws. His paws are adoptable with the white tips! Based on his growth chart he will probably be about 50 pounds when fully grown (currently he is 10lbs). Mom is a mix Lab-German Shepherd; dad is unknown. Kirk is a laid-back guy compared with his active siblings, but he knows how to have fun. He has started potty pad training and doing very well. He has been exposed to other dogs, a cat, children, and the vacuum cleaner - no problems with any.

Kirk was born in a foster home with his 7 siblings soon after his mom was rescued from the shelter. He has been raised in a loving and healthy environment, and is now ready for his forever home.

He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, current on trifexis, and one of the cutest pups you'll ever meet! Fill out an app for him here: http://forrescue.net/dog-application/. Once received, his foster mom will be in touch!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kirk, a Knoxville Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog for sale in Knoxville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in Knoxville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Knoxville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Knoxville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Knoxville paves the way for another one to be saved.
