My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adopted - Sept 2016

I’m Hero!

I am a 5 yr old (born in 2011) male Shepherd Cross. I’m house trained, up to date on vaccinations and have been neutered as well.

As you can see, I had a bit of a rough start in life. I got hit by a car and lost my front leg, but that doesn't slow me down at all. I still have lots of youthful energy and I'm learning how to play. I’m a little bit shy and timid, but I’d really like to get to know you if you can show me love, patience, and kindness.

The past year hasn't been the greatest so now my foster mom has been helping me learn a lot of new things. I'm learning to walk on a leash and to enjoy the outdoors. I like to walk with people, and my endurance is slowly improving. I'm good with other dogs, but I worry that they may take my food or my bed. I've been told that this will get better with time as I realize that I am safe and there is a lot to go around! I like a quiet place in the house to hang out, I've chosen my foster mom's powder room, and I'd do well in a crate too. Sudden movements and loud noises still startle me, but I just head to my quiet spot when I'm startled. I love kids! I'm gentle with them and like cuddles.

I’d be great if you could help me learn more and gain new experiences, I'd love to come and live with you and I've got lots of love to give in return!
