Becky's Story...
NOTE: This is a courtesy posting for another rescuer. Please do not contact ARRF, as we do not know this pet personally. To meet Becky, come to the County of San Diego Department of Animal Services, 5821 Sweetwater Rd., Bonita 91902.

Becky is a very sweet, spayed female 3-year-old Hound mix, weighing in at approximately 54 lbs. She rode extremely well in the car when she went to a recent adoption event.

Becky walks quite well on a leash, especially so with a harness. She does well with all dogs, but seems more interested in the smaller ones. She is a very affectionate girl, enjoying any attention she gets. Becky already knows the command to sit. She is treat motivated, so she will be capable of learning more commands.

She seems comfortable around children, but because of her size, kids over 8 years would be best.

If you are ready to meet Becky, come to the County of San Diego Department of Animal Services, 5821 Sweetwater Rd., Bonita 91902. Open Tuesdays - Saturdays, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm. Closed Sundays, Mondays and holidays.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Becky, a Vista Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Vista, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Vista.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vista already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vista breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vista paves the way for another one to be saved.
