Hello, I would like to introduce you to one of the sweetest girls I have ever met...her name is Bismuth. Bismuth is believed to be about 2 years old. Upon intake, they "guesstimated" JRT/ Dachsund mix. I have owned a JRT, and this girl is way too mellow. She is short and long, weighing about 35 lbs.
When she came to us she was scared and very shy. She is starting to come out of her shell and she is a gentle, playful pleasure. I do not believe Bismuth had much of a doggy quality of life. I do not believe she has ever walked on a leash before. In a short time Bismuth has been walking on a leash and going into her crate on command at night. Her leash skills are improving where my 7 yr old easily walks her. She has not had any potty accidents in the house, but I am very diligent about letting her out first thing in the morning, before I go out and first thing when I come home. She has the run of the house when we are home. She will be spayed on 8/31/16 and after she will be available for adoption.
She loves to play with my 2 children, both second graders, and will happily receive a belly rub anytime. I have purchased a few chew toys which she will use, but otherwise, she loves to snuggle. She gets along great with other dogs she has met in the neighborhood. Did I mention how quiet she is? She does not make a sound in her crate until I come to let her out, then its tail wagging excitement. She doesn't even bark at the doorbell. She was exposed to a cat at the clinic, and she just sniffed the kitty and walked away. We have a senior kitty in the house, who has been avoiding Bismuth so no second opinion yet! My kitty has never really cared for the K9 type. But I believe Bismuth would be fine with a kitty.
If you think Bismuth is the girl you have been looking for please contact us by completing an adoption application at the web address shown below.

Angels Among Us Pet Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit volunteer-based organization dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats from high-kill shelters in Georgia. We operate through a network of foster homes in the metro Atlanta area.
Our efforts are funded by tax-deductible contributions from compassionate people and organizations who care and want to help make a difference... one pet at a time.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Our animals are in our network of foster homes. We do not have a shelter. Please go to www.facebook.com/angelsrescue/events to see our schedule of adoption events, or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in a specific dog.
Our Adoption Process...
The first step in adopting or meeting any of our dogs is to fill out an adoption application on www.angelsrescue.org. Your application will be assigned to someone in our organization that will review it and contact you to discuss it. Please allow us at least 3 business days to contact you. We require a meet and greet with your current dogs (if applicable) and all family members (if possible) and a home check. Please note: Puppies under 4 months are not currently available for adoption outside the state of Georgia.
