Hi, my name is Columbus! Nice to meet you.
I am looking for a home. I am a hound mix, I weigh about 75 pounds, I’m already neutered and I don’t have any medical issues (well, other than the normal getting a little stiff when I first starting moving around). The vet says I’m about 5-6 years old...but my foster mom thinks I may be a little older (my eyes are a little cloudy). But heck, I know youngsters who are still and cloudy too.
I don’t bark or howl like some hounds, but I am little vocal when I get excited...I sort of happy whimper and talk to you...my foster mom says it is “adorable.” I am house trained (100%) and I’m learning a crate isn’t so bad; although you may have to coax me in with—say, a treat? And once I am in the crate, I easily sleep through the night. But if you don’t want to use a crate...I really don’t need one. My foster says I’m a “stubborn old man” sometimes…don’t tell her it’s a ruse to get a treat (wink, smile). I haven’t been tested with kids or cats yet, but I let the 5-month old puppy play all around me...I don’t mind when he jumps on and barks at me. I’m not interested in playing, but I am very patient and tolerant. So, if you have other dogs, I will do great, and if you don’t, that’s okay too. I am happy all by myself.
And if I can make one more request? I love belly rubs; so, will you give me belly rubs? If you are looking for a calm, loving, quiet fellow to keep you company and to take leisurely walks with you, I am the one! Just fill out an adoption application at the web address below and come meet me. I am looking for a home and I would love for it to be with you!
