Erik's Info...

I am already neutered, up to date with shots, and good with cats.

Erik's Story...
Erik is a sweet black and white boy with medium length fur and a cute pink nose. He is quite people-oriented, a real love bug!

Erik is very affectionate, wants lots of attention, and likes to be around wherever his people are. He will "walk" right up your arms by himself, to be held close to your neck and shoulder. He enjoys a good scratching post and a fluffy bed.

Erik was rescued from a shelter in central Virginia after being surrendered by the owner who was moving and could not take the two with him.

Erik was born in August 2012. He is neutered, current on his vaccinations, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and has been micro chipped.

Erik enjoys a good quality kibble (such as chicken and rice formulas) available to snack on all day, and a half-can serving of Fancy Feast wet food twice a day.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Erik, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
