Brandy's Story...
Brandy is a senior boxer mix who found herself homeless and in danger of euthanasia when her owner was evicted and could not find dog friendly housing. She's been residing at a local kennel where they've kept her safe, but she needs a home. A kennel is a nice place to visit, but no place for a lady to spend her golden years.
She can be apprehensive at first, but warms up quickly after some yummy treats and is happy to give a paw to get some more smile emoticon:-)
She prefers a quiet adult home without a lot of traffic. She can be protective in the home so needs slow introductions to new visitors or a quiet place to retreat to if guests are over. She has not lived with dogs before and isn't really interested in playing with them, but is non reactive to them on walks and at the kennel so the trainer feels she could live with another dog of similar temperament. She is also cat friendly.
She is housebroken, knows her basic commands and walks nicely on leash. She's fully vetted and ready to go.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brandy, a Acushnet Boxer/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/Labrador Retriever for sale in Acushnet, or seeking a Boxer/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Acushnet.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Acushnet already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Acushnet breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Boxer/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Acushnet paves the way for another one to be saved.
