Gopher's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Gopher's Story...
Gopher is a purebred male Corgi that we claimed from the Austin City dog pound. Animal control officers in Austin pick up loose dogs and place them into the Pound. The owner of the dog has 10 days to claim the dog. Since no owner showed up at the Pound to claim ownership of Gopher, we took him in to our Humane Society shelter. We estimate him to be about 2 years of age, and he probably weighs about 25 pounds. He gets along fine with other dogs and the variety of people that come and go through the Shelter. At our Shelter Gopher lives in a 5' x 5' kennel pen and gets let out twice per day. With this set-up, we are unable to determine if he is housetrained or not. He does do a good job of keeping his kennel pen clean, but plan to do some housetraining with Gopher just to be safe. He can be a little timid at times, but nothing extreme. He does not run away from people or anything like that. Once you're holding him in your arms, Gopher loves to give kisses. Gopher is neutered and current with all vaccinations. His adoption fee is $95. We utilize a short adoption application form to assess compatibility between dogs and prospective homes. This form can be e-mailed to you upon request. If you have any other questions, please send us an e-mail (no phone calls please).

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gopher, a Austin Corgi/Welsh Corgi dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Corgi/Welsh Corgi for sale in Austin, or seeking a Corgi/Welsh Corgi dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Corgi/Welsh Corgi breeders who help with Corgi/Welsh Corgi rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
