Lydia's Story...
Up for adoption: Lydia!

She can be adopted in Texas.

Lydia is a 2 year old black lab mix, who is 60 pounds and incredibly sweet! Lydia acts like a human - she is incredibly easy to fall in love with! Her personality is very unique - she loves to try to communicate with her people, and is incredibly smart. She wants to be with her people so much that she will even try to block them from leaving with her front paws! Lydia is great with kids of all ages, including a toddler that she lives with. She loves to snuggle and watch tv with her foster family. Lydia is happiest with a member of her family by her side!

Lydia lives with other dogs and does enjoy playing with them, but would also enjoy being an only dog with her own family where she receives all of the attention. Lydia knows some commands, like “sit” and “lie down,” and walks well on a leash. She is house trained, but not a huge fan of the crate.

She is spayed, micro-chipped, vaccinated and heart worm negative. Lydia would make a wonderful addition to any family! If you are interested in adopting her, please apply at www.luckylabrescue.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lydia, a Austin Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Austin, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
