She can be adopted in Texas.

Lydia is a 2 year old black lab mix, who is 60 pounds and incredibly sweet! Lydia acts like a human - she is incredibly easy to fall in love with! Her personality is very unique - she loves to try to communicate with her people, and is incredibly smart. She wants to be with her people so much that she will even try to block them from leaving with her front paws! Lydia is great with kids of all ages, including a toddler that she lives with. She loves to snuggle and watch tv with her foster family. Lydia is happiest with a member of her family by her side!

Lydia lives with other dogs and does enjoy playing with them, but would also enjoy being an only dog with her own family where she receives all of the attention. Lydia knows some commands, like “sit” and “lie down,” and walks well on a leash. She is house trained, but not a huge fan of the crate.

She is spayed, micro-chipped, vaccinated and heart worm negative. Lydia would make a wonderful addition to any family! If you are interested in adopting her, please apply at

About Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption - TX Austin

About Our Rescue Group...

Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) approved rescue organization whose mission is to reduce the euthanasia rates and inhumane treatment of Labrador Retrievers and lab mixes and find them loving forever homes.

Most labs that come into Lucky Lab Rescue are from municipal and county shelters in Texas. Most are at risk of euthanasia, usually due to overcrowded conditions, great dogs, who ended up in a bad spot.

Labs are one of the most popular breeds of dogs due to their loyal and family oriented personalities. Labs are also one of the most overbred breeds and are the number one breed to be found in shelters. They also have one of the highest euthanasia rates. Some find it difficult that rescues can be breed specific, however, Lucky Lab Rescue and other lab rescues make a huge impact on euthanasia rates just by rescuing labs and lab mixes alone.
