A volunteer writes: Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wag, wag, wag. Little George is open for business! 1.5 year-old George, a Tootsie roll on four legs, is sweet, silly, and a tiny bit shy. On our first meeting George is initially nervous and reluctant to leave his kennel for our walk despite wag, wag, wagging throughout it all. But after a few kind words and a few delicious treats George is ready to go! Well, almost ready. The shelter’s halls prove a bit too scary and George initially “pancakes” himself on to the ground rather than walk. Fearful though he may seem, however, he continues to wag, wag, wag, and wiggle, wiggle, wiggle even at one point rolling over for a belly rub! I decide the most efficient way to get sweet George out and on to playing is to carry our Tootsie roll like the babe that he is. I scoop all 40 lbs of him into my arms and he gives my cheek a quick slurrrrp as thanks. Free in a pen George sheds every hesitation and relaxes into the true, young pup that he is. He savors every treat and sniffs every toy and flops over once more for a belly rub. For our return George is now emboldened and walks without worry back through the shelter’s doors. On approaching his kennel he has one moment of pause, looking up at me “It’s OK?” “It is,” I say rubbing his head, and he happily hops inside. Sweet, silly, and a tiny bit shy, George needs only the right hand to guide him and show him the ways of the world. Could that be you? Best fit: Single and couples; Families with kids, we would prefer 5+. Email ThePolishedPitbull@gmail.com to find out more about meeting GEORGE. About The Polished Pitbull Phoenixville

About Our Rescue Group...

The Polished Pitbull, a pitbull-only rescue in the Philadelphia suburbs
A proper bully loves people.

Who we are: we are a dedicated group of pitbull lovers in the Philadelphia suburbs. We strive to provide information and education about Pitbull type dogs, with the clear understanding that they are under attack in this country because unscrupulous people are using them as a cash-crop, for illegal dog-fighting and gambling. We seek to restore the image of the dog to its proper place in American society: the same trusted family pet that it once was when Petey was the pitbull on the Little Rascals.
