Burt's Story...
Are you looking for a sweet and loving companion? Burt is an attentive, sensitive, and eager to please young boy. He is an active 3 year old with a gorgeous, velvety, closed red and white coat. Going for walks is Burt's favorite activity, and he likes to roll around in the grass at the park. He is pretty good about meeting other dogs at the park now. When he is not going to the park, he prefers to be indoors with his people. He is housebroken, and whistles when he needs to go outside. Burt is a big boy, but he is in great physical shape! He has some basic obedience training, and has been showing more and more as he gets comfortable with his surroundings. Burt would do well as an only dog with a stay at home type person. He gets along well with his foster siblings, but it took several days for him to find his place on the pecking list.

Having a safe, stable home will allow Burt to reach his potential, and you will love the devotion he shows you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Burt, a Phoenix Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
