A - RIO's Story...
Hi, my name is RIO. I was sprung from a doggie shelter on the first day of the Rio Olympics! Whew! I feel as though I won a Gold Medal!!!

Hey! Before you get attached to me, read all the way to the bottom. You will see that I am still in Houston, TX but I want to get OUT of Houston and OUT of Texas so I can have a really good life. I want to see Texas in my rear view mirror. A nice person came along and took me in and, now, I am ready to hit the road to your house! Uh, make that “our” house, OK?

Wanna know more about me? OK, here goes! I am a Yellow Lab/Husky mix. Yes! Can you believe it? Take a look at my curled tail. Two independent vets both gave the same breeds. Of course, I didn’t know for sure because my parents didn’t stick around long enough for me to ask them about my heritage. Maybe I can go look on Do you have a computer I can use when I get to your house? (Uh, let’s make that “our” house, OK?) I am almost 2 years old and I weigh 55 pounds. Those funny-looking creatures, named humans, I think they are called, told me that they think that I am pretty darn cute. What do YOU think, huh?

Can you stand hearing more good stuff about me? I am a nice and happy boy. I am a rather calm and quiet guy and love being loved on and giving back love to my peeps. I learned to use a doggie door so I know to go outside to do my personal business. I have had all of my vaccines, have a microchip and I’ve been neutered. YIKES!

Oh, how I would love to have my own home and some peeps to cuddle with and they could love me and take good care of me. That is my first dream! My second dream is all about treats and playing and romping with my new family. We could play catch in the back yard, throw a Frisbee, go for walks or hikes and do all the things good buddies do together. Ah, I can see it all now!

My foster mom loves me SO much that she only wants me to fly to my new home even if a pet transport truck was available. See my adoption information below.

If you would like to take me home (and you know you do), please email and she can get me on my way to a new and loving home! My adoption fee is $650 USD and includes my vetting, neutering, microchip, health certificate, travel crate AND transportation on United Airlines from Houston, TX to areas in the Northeast U. S., North Central U. S., Northwest U. S., and Canada and will be arranged by the rescue group. (This is a courtesy posting.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

A - RIO, a Wilwaukee Labrador Retriever/Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Husky for sale in Wilwaukee, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Husky dog from a breeder in Wilwaukee.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilwaukee already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilwaukee breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Husky breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilwaukee paves the way for another one to be saved.
