From my pictures you can see why I'm called Bella: I have that classic hound beauty. It may take me a minute to warm up to you - I don't give my heart to just anyone - but once I trust you I am so affectionate I will even try to sit in your lap!  Something I absolutely love is to get back scratches — they “bliss me out!”  : - )   I'm also very smart — I have C.L.A.S.S.!  (Canine Life and Social Skills).  Yup! I've participated in the C.L.A.S.S. program! ( ). That means that I’ve been training in “real life” skills such as walking nicely on a leash, table manners, and coming when called, just to name a few. The skills I've been working on in C.L.A.S.S. mean I’m well on my way to becoming a well-behaved member of society and a welcome addition to your household!  With positive training I have already learned how to sit, stay, lie down, go to bed, and a neat and useful trick called hand targeting.  I'd prefer any children in my home to be old enough to understand how to be gentle, so no kids under 8 years old for me please. I would be happy being your only pet, or having one doggy sibling, around my own size.  I have a lot of energy and would appreciate an active family, and possibly a nice securely fenced yard to run in, but once I'm tired I really enjoy a nice snuggle on the couch.

My friends at Brother Wolf have made me part of the One-Year Sponsorship club, this means that my adoption fee is waived, and for one year after my adoption date Brother Wolf will provide food, vet care through a partner vet, and behavior support!

If you are looking for an active, yet delicate companion, and you appreciate people complimenting you on what a beautiful dog you have, come meet me at the Adoption Center today!

All Brother Wolf animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations before adoption (if species appropriate).
Application and counseling is required prior to all adoptions.

Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!

Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.

About Brother Wolf Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is known for their excellence in matching people with the best dog or cat that would suit their lifestyle. Today we are proud to have the largest NO-KILL shelter in Asheville. Brother Wolf Animal Rescue was established in 2006. We started off as a very small group of people, taking dogs and cats from gassing shelters in GA. We found wonderful homes for these animals but realized while we were saving these particular animals, we had a much bigger problem in our community that we needed to face. Perfectly healthy, highly adoptable animals in our community are being euthanized every day. Rescued pets are not broken or damaged goods. They are wonderful animals who have ended up homeless through no fault of their own.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our facility is located at 31 Glendale Avenue in Asheville, off Swannanoa River Rd, 1/2 mile from Lowe's. Open every day.

Our Adoption Process...

All adoptions will require a contract and discussions with one of our adoption counselors. Based on the needs of the particular animal, we reserve the right to require a home visit at the discretion of the adoption counselor. All our animals will be altered before adoption and up-to-date on standard vaccinations. We do collect an adoption fee.
