Buddy is a chihuahua/dachshund mix and he is about 9 years old! Don't let his age fool you, this kid is FULL of life! He brings smiles, spunk, and laughter into any home. Buddy was born without front legs, but as you can see he's not letting this stop him from getting anywhere. He just hops and walks using his back legs! Buddy is housebroken, potty pad trained, and great with kids of all ages. He's playful at times and relaxed at times. He's really the best dog! Buddy gets along with all other dogs, but should probably go to a home without large dogs. He loves toys and food so he can be a little possessive of these things. He is always down for a good couch snuggle and some TV time. He likes all dog beds and he LOVES to wrap up in a warm blanket.. like Buddy burrito! Buddy has been amazing in his foster home, and now he is ready to find his furever family!
Buddy should NEVER be left unattended outside. He should be taken out with an adult each time he needs to go out to play and potty. Buddy gets around pretty well for a 2-legged dog, but there will be an adjustment period where he learns to become accustomed to things in a new home. He can not go upstairs and will have a hard time getting over humps and door frames, but over time Buddy and his forever family will learn his abilities and disabilities in a home. He does have a wheelchair, but like his sister, he has lived his whole life without one and the chair can be a little scary to him at first. He does NOT use his wheelchair yet. Buddy likes to just pick up his wheels and hop around with them. :)) With the perfect family, he will continue to learn and work on using his wheelchair, but this will take time and patience since it is so new to him.

Every year thousands of animals are euthanized or sent home to die because the people who love them cannot afford the cost of veterinary care. Stray and abandoned animals have even fewer options when they are brought into a clinic or veterinary office with no owner to pay for their care.
At The Bella Foundation, we believe that every animal should receive the best possible care regardless of the owner's ability to pay. When an owner brings an animal into a clinic for care and cannot afford the cost, the attending veterinarian can contact The Bella Foundation for assistance. If assistance is given, the owner must agree to volunteer at least 8 hours of their time at a local animal shelter. Stray or abandoned animals are cared for with no stipulation attached.
The Bella Foundation takes the placement of animals in homes very seriously and our goal is to do everything possible to match the right animal with the right animal. Our adoption application can be found on our website.
