Zeke's Story...
Hi! My name is Zeke and I have the gentlest soul! I’m a 2-year German Shepherd mix and weigh about 50lbs. Despite being dumped by my previous owner, I’ve never given up on my love of life. I love everyone: people and dogs of all sizes, plus I’m good with cats! I could play all day with people or other dogs, but I also love to get belly rubs and cuddle up after a long day of playing. I’m incredibly smart - I’m already house-trained and could easily learn how to use a doggie-door. I make a wonderful outdoor companion, so if you’re looking for someone to run, walk, camp, or hike with, I’m DEFINITELY your guy!

If you'd like to meet this dog, please fill out an adoption application at http://www.sarocks.org/adopt or visit us on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/sarocksorg.

The $150 adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, rabies tag, heartworm test, and 1st month's flea/tick & heartworm preventative.

Adopting an animal from a foster home gives you the best option of finding a pet that matches your lifestyle and home environment, because they are in foster, our foster homes are able to give you more information on their temperament and personality.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zeke, a San Antonio German Shepherd Dog/Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Collie for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Collie dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Collie breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
