Hi there,
My name is Justice! My foster mom calls me "sweet justice" because in spite of whatever I went through prior to arriving at the shelter, I am so sweet and loving. I am a survivor for sure! These grey hairs and "beauty marks" on me represent my endurance and spirit; have no fear!
I'm about 5 years old. Today, I weigh 47 lbs but my people say I seem like just a little guy. I'm small in stature, but I guess I'm medium sized. Being that I'm 5, I'm a fairly low energy guy. I love to take walks (nothing too extreme), and I especially love to lie in the grass (until it gets too hot, and then I prefer to lie around inside in the A/C!). When sitting outside, I quickly lay down, even if it's concrete. Maybe this is because I spent a lot of time outside before taken to the shelter. The calluses on my joints and my left ear being scarred prove that to be true.
My temperament: Cool, calm, and collected. Trusting. Low energy most of the time; moderate when walking around in social settings. I am fine hanging out around the house with my people, but a walk a day makes me happy. I have been out and about to some pet friendly places in Raleigh. I loved that, too! Sometimes, I get curious and will try to pull a bit, but I'm working on that. I've done well saying "hi" to the dogs my foster mom has let me meet. I've also had a few play dates. My two dog neighbors are a husky and a terrier mix, and we get along fine. I have shown, too, that I will defend myself if needed, and then send the dog calming signals saying I'm no threat. I haven't been around any cats yet, but we can meet if needed. I ride well in the backseat, but, sorry, my black hair sheds.
Loud noises and action don't bother me. I'm so chill. Now, at first, I didn't like being in a crate. I threw a fit! My people being gone is not my favorite thing. But, after some time, I guess I'm now fine in the crate while my people are at work (blah). At night, I stay asleep in my crate, whether the door is open or closed. Also, my foster mom has let me stay out loose in the house for up to three hours so far, and I've done perfectly well! I just lay on the rug or on my dog bed. I don't really play with toys yet, but if you put some treats in a Kong, I usually get working on that! I'm house trained. I haven't used the restroom in the house even once!
I'm getting neutered soon and will also have these darn eye lashes fixed so they stop scraping my left eye (entropion) and causing that inflammation you see in my pictures! The vet says I can see and hear fine, though, and I do pay attention when my people talk to me. They are the boss, and I know it.
I'm a very easy, kind, obedient dog who wants a FurrEver home where I'm adored and treated well. I have many years of love to give. Email JMartz2000@hotmail.com if you want us to meet!
