Molly's Story...
Molly is an 11 month old German shepherd mix. She adores children and is very forgiving with kids hanging on her. She's a very sensitive dog and does not need to be harshly corrected. If Molly could be a lap dog she would be, as she's super affectionate and always tries to cuddle with you. She is a bit fearful of strangers and should be properly socialized in an obedience class so she can learn to trust all people and increase her confidence level.

All dogs at our shelter have been started on a vaccination program, de-wormed, treated with Revolution for fleas, spayed/neutered and microchipped. The adoption fee for a dog is $150. Free event T-shirt with each adoption while supplies last! If you are a PA resident, you will also be required to purchase a dog license. There are 2 licensing options : annual licenses are $6.50 and are renewable every January. Lifetime licenses are $31.50 and never need to be renewed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Molly, a Honesdale German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Honesdale, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Honesdale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Honesdale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Honesdale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Honesdale paves the way for another one to be saved.
