Izzy's Story...
Izzy is very sweet and laid back. She spent the first 9 months of her life as a stray. Some kind people fed her and when she became pregnant they contacted WAAL who took her in and put her with a foster. Everything was new to her. She had never been inside a house or had any one love on her. She has come a long way. She loves to be petted but still prefers you sit down next to her. She is learning to play with toys. Getting the hang of a wand. Nobody had ever played with her. She was an excellent mama to her babies and even took in an orphan baby. She would do best in a home without young children. Sudden movements and loud noises startle her. She will let you pick her up and hold her for a short time and lets you give her kisses. She gets along with the small dogs and male adult cats in the house. If you have the patience to give Izzy she will make you a wonderful companion. Please go to waalrescue.org/adoptions and complete and application to adopt Izzy and give her the home she deserves.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Izzy, a Wichita Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Wichita, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Wichita.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wichita already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wichita breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wichita paves the way for another one to be saved.
