Hank is a handsome young Dane. He loves to play with other dogs and his humans. He can be rough (but it’s all in play), so another large dog would be best.

Sometimes he thinks his humans are “just one of the pack” and will jump on them at times. Thus, it is highly advisable that Hank should not live with children under the age of 15.

Hank needs more training but does know some basic obedience. He knows “sit,” “down,” “shake hands,” and “off.”

He is fabulous on the leash.

He likes to steal “prizes” such as hair ties or a dryer sheet. His foster family is working on “leave it” and “drop it.” Most of the time, Hank’s foster mom has to open his mouth and take the object. He is a typical puppy who does not like to give up his “prizes.”

Hank loves to play fetch.

He has been very good loose in the house with no issues chewing on anything other than his toys.

He does push his boundaries with the furniture and will sneak on the bed or couch any chance he gets. When he is told to get off, he will sometimes look at his foster mom as if he were saying, “are you sure?” His new owner needs to be firm but loving. He does much better with consistency and routine.

Hank currently lives with 4 other Danes and 3 cats.

He will pounce at the cat once in a while but usually licks it if the cat doesn’t run away.

Hank loves to go for car rides.

Hank can be unsure about new experiences but seems to adjust well with reassurance from his human.

Overall, Hank is a happy-go-lucky puppy who needs an owner willing to train him, and allow him the time he needs to adjust to a new home.
