Cody's Story...
Cody is a male Havanese mix. He was a stray at the Wichita Animal Shelter and boy was he a mess. We want to thank Debbie Hardesty from “Debs Dog Grooming” for being so patient with him and getting him groomed. After his wonderful groom he had to spend time learning to be crate trained and house trained. He is great with his crate training, and doing much better on the house training, but still needs a bit of supervision. He is extremely playful, and loves his toys, walks and rides in the car. A very outgoing dog who has never met a stranger. He is about 8 months old and about 18 lbs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cody, a Wichita Havanese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Havanese for sale in Wichita, or seeking a Havanese dog from a breeder in Wichita.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wichita already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wichita breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Havanese breeders who help with Havanese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wichita paves the way for another one to be saved.
