Flanagan is a super sweet fella who was sadly forced to live in a small, outdoor flea and tick infested pen without human interaction for a prolonged period of time. Thanks to a caring individual who was determined to give Flanagan a better life, we were able to contact the owner and ultimately obtain consent for Flanagan to be surrendered to us.
Flanagan tested positive for for Ehrlichiosis (a common issue in areas where ticks are present) and has since completed his course of antibiotics for treatment. Flanagan is among those in the "subclinical phase," showing no outward symptoms of illness. For more information about Ehrlichiosis, please visit the following link: http://www.stray-afp.org/…/uploads/2012/06/Ehrlichiosis-in-…
Although Flanagan has permanent scarring from living in harsh elements, his heart is pure and loving. Flanagan would be ideal for someone who is looking for an even keeled, calm companion. He loves to give his foster Mom kisses and thinks that a clean, fluffy dog bed is the best thing ever! Flanagan walks well on a leash and is very content just being in your presence. Flanagan is house trained to a dog door in his foster home, gets along well with an array of other dogs, ranging from 15-90 pounds, loves everyone he meets and can be trusted without issue to free range in a home environment.
If you are looking for a laid back, friend, look no further than Flanagan. His gentle and loving ways are sure to win your heart!
