My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This lass is “gentle as a FEATHER”. Good, because that’s her name! Looking like a Lab / Husky mix: with the Husky hair (but all white), she’s lean & light, smaller than she looks at just over 30 pounds. True age is unknown, but our best guess is she's somewhere between 2 and 5 years old. She has a very gentle demeanor: good with people, neighbors, other dogs, “OK” with the cat (i.e., tries – to no avail - to get him to play). And while she is gentle, she has energy to burn. Her favorite thing is to wrestle with and run around yard with her foster brother. It’s run/wrestle/rest … run/wrestle/rest, and so on. She’s not a “jump-in-your-lap” dog and and is usually content to lie on the floor next to the couch/bed, rather than on it. She also likes to lie in the sun & roll in the grass for a good back-scratch.

Feather is good on the leash (although pulls a bit) she likes to go for walks & is easy to walk. She’s house-trained, and is comfortable being crated for several hours at a time, and overnight. Chew toys are a plus, especially hard bones / old milk jugs (& makes “snow” from paper towel rolls if she gets one). Feather would make a great addition to a family with older children, and another dog. That seems to be her JOY: run, wrestle, play … then come over for a family snug, gentle pats on the head, a little people-lovin’ … then off again. She’s a joy to have around the house, is really good company, and is just waiting for the right family to ‘scoop her up’. Come & meet Feather today.

Feather's adoption fee of $300 includes: vet exam, heartworm test, rabies vaccination, bordetella vaccination, distemper combo vaccination, routine deworming, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip and spay.
