Flanagan is an absolute love bug that is sure to win your heart! When we first learned about Flanagan, he was confined to a small, outdoor pen infested with vermin and feces. The majority of his fur was missing due to an untreated flea allergy. Thanks to a caring individual who was determined to give Flanagan a better life we were contacted for assistance.

Flanagan tested positive for for Ehrlichiosis (a common issue in areas where ticks are present). A course of doxycycline,  antibiotic treatment was completed August of 2016. Flanagan is among those in the "subclinical phase," showing no outward symptoms of illness. For more information about Ehrlichiosis, please visit the following link: http://www.stray-afp.org/…/uploads/2012/06/Ehrlichiosis-in-… Our vet has confirmed Flanagan has arthritis and we also suspect minor hip dysplasia; however, other than slower movement after he has been laying for a prolonged period of time, it is not highly noticeable. In an effort to maintain his comfort, daily glucosamine supplements are utilized.

Flanagan would be ideal for someone who is looking for an even keeled, calm companion. He loves to give his foster Mom kisses and thinks that a clean, fluffy dog bed is the best thing ever! Flanagan walks well on a leash and is very content just being in your presence. He is a bit of a "talker" that will certainly make you smile. Over the months in foster care, we have been able to decode exactly what Flanagan has to tell us! He is house trained to a dog door in his foster home, gets along with an array of other dogs, ranging from 15-90 pounds, loves everyone he meets and can be trusted without issue to free range in a home environment.

If you are looking for a laid back friend to keep you company, look no further than Flanagan. His gentle and loving ways are sure to win your heart!
