Hi, my name is Jax and I'm a 1 year old Terrier/MinPin mix (at least that's what I think I am) and I'm looking for my perfect forever family. I weigh about 15 pounds and have very soft fur. I love playtime and chew toys. I have a lot of energy to run around and play fetch, though I haven't really mastered the whole "drop the toy" part. I do super well in my crate and am proud to be able to sleep quietly all through the night. My foster parent was worried that I wouldn't know the difference between outside and inside, but I showed him! I'll let you know if have business to do and will wait until we get outside.

My ideal human(s) would love long walks and hikes and playing with me. Sometimes I take a few minutes to warm up to new people, but once I get to know them, especially if they throw a ball to me, it's like we're old friends. I'm the first one to hop onto someone's lap and give lots of kisses. I'm playful with other dogs once I get to know them. I didn't get to be around other dogs in my previous home but I'm learning to be more sociable. I'm taking training classes and learning to play nice with dogs and people. I hope my new family will continue my training--maybe even agility classes some day!

All in all I just like to have fun. Toys, treats, play and fun and we'll get along perfectly!

Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial medical and other costs in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we must charge an adoption fee. The adoption fee for Jax is $300.

If you are interested in adopting Jax, please complete our online application at http://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process.html (copy and paste the URL into your browser). One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area.

About Grateful Dogs Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Grateful Dogs Rescue was founded in 1990; its mission is to rescue dogs not made available for adoption at San Francisco Animal Care and Control and other local shelters through no fault of their own. Rather than letting these dogs be euthanized, Grateful Dogs saves as many as possible by fostering these dogs until a loving home is found.

Grateful Dogs Rescue is always in need of new foster homes!  You can make a difference by fostering. The number of dogs we can save is dependent on having foster parents to care for them until they find their forever homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our Adoption Process...

The Grateful Dogs Rescue adoption procedure is designed to find a good match between the dog and adopter. Our goal is a happy human and happy dog in a "forever home." The adoption procedure includes an application, interview, home inspection, and an adoption fee. The adoption fee helps to cover spay/neuter, shots and other medical care given before the dog is made available for adoption.
