Meet Fern! This confident, five-year-old pup lives life on her terms. Her foster mom says she's like a cat in a dog's body - she will come to you when she wants snuggles and pets, but is otherwise a pretty independent pup.
Fern is housetrained, walks well on a leash, and easy to train because she is very food-motivated! If you like to teach dogs new tricks, Fern's your girl! She has a moderate activity level and a moderate affection level. She will walk over to her people for pets, but she prefers to decide when enough is enough and walk away.
Fern also has a silly side....when she goes into her crate, she arranges her things so that only an eye or an ear is sticking out from underneath her blankets.
Fern's ideal home is one where her family can appreciate and handle her independent nature. She needs people to set ground rules for her while also understanding her need for her own space. She'd probably be best as an only dog, or in a home with another confident dog.
