Dixie is available for foster or adoption. We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for fosters! Dixie is currently fostered in Brandon.

Dixie is a very affectionate senior, approximately 10 years old and healthy. She gets along with all dogs, cats, and even my birds. She is very sweet and loves to be with her human at all times. She sleeps in bed with her foster parents and follows her foster mom everywhere in the house. She seems to prefer women, but does not show aggression towards men. She is looking for a family who will love her through the rest of her years. I have been feeding her diet food to try to get her girlish figure back. She is completely house trained and has not shown any destructive behavior.

About Ewenity Farm Herding Dog Haven

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small rescue organization located in Southwest Florida. Being small helps us give more one on one attention to individual dogs and their needs. Rescued dogs are kept in our homes and treated as our own. Herding dogs are unique. They are a highly intelligent and require much of the owner’s attention. The dogs are evaluated, when they come into the rescue, for any temperament and health issues. Then they are given basic obedience, socialization and rehabilitation as it is necessary.

It is our sole purpose to find forever homes for these loving, wonderful dogs that have been discarded through no fault of their own. All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Since all rescue dogs live in our homes with us or in foster homes, you will need to travel to meet any dog you might want to adopt.

You will need to contact Ewenity Farms HDH to make arrangements to meet the rescue dog.

Our Adoption Process...

We require potential adopters to fill out an Adoption Application. When that is approved we can arrange for the prospective adopter to meet the dog they are interested in. We do require an adoption contract to be signed at time of adoption. We conduct home visits. There is an adoption fee that is usually around $250 per dog to cover any expenses we have incurred. We do have dogs located at qualified fosters throughout the state and also out of state.
