My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

JACKSON is a 2 year old neutered fox red male Lab who weighs 48 pounds. Jackson is a sweet happy pup who would be very happy to meet you and have you take him to his new home. He was a stray but don't think he was one long as his coat is in good shape, chances are he was dropped off in the country by someone who found out he was Heartworm positive and couldn't afford his treatment. He is very friendly and likes to be with you getting attention. He hasn't figured out toys yet but is willing to learn how to play with them. He is pretty smart, it only took him about a minute to find out where my treat stash was and paid close attention when I pulled one out and asked him to do something. With treats his response was about 1-2 seconds, without treats it was longer (food rules). He would love a home with a fenced yard so he can play and wouldn't have to worry about the temptation to wander off. Good with other dogs has been out with several at the shelter with several with no problems. Knows sit, come and down. Will have Training Addendum, Pulls some on lead, good with an Easy Walk Harness. Most likely house trained, waits until he goes outside to go. Jackson was a stray to the shelter. He is approved for kids 7+. More info soon!

Update: Jackson is a sweet boy who likes to be with you to give you company and is perfectly willing to climb in your lap to make sure you have someone to pet. Changed Jackson's kids age to 7 and up, he is super with a boy of that age and his friends. He is great with her 3 dogs other dogs and completely ignores the cat. She has an 8 month old pup who can't walk because of a spinal problem and Jackson will lay down on the floor so she can wrestle with him). (Video is grainy, it is at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cpEQR_VpjQ ). He is starting to play with toys after watching the others pups enjoy them. Foster thought he was jumping their fence but couldn't figure out where so she walked it and found a tree had fallen against it, he was walking up it then jumping down on the other side of the fence. He didn't go far just went to find someone. He is House and crate trained
