From Junie''s foster mom:

Junie is a sweet, easy, sensitive girl who is waiting for her forever home where she will be treasured for the rest of her life.
It doesn''t seem like Junie lived the good life before coming into my home, but we are making up for lost time. She enjoys walks around the neighborhood and has nice leash manners. She likes her bed, but also likes to splay out on the cool floors. She''s very compliant and is a very nice addition to the household! I love having her sweet, soulful face around!
Junie would like a calm home with a canine sibling who is well-adjusted and can help her learn the ropes and keep her company when her people are away. She seems to really like small dogs and is very good with my 11 lb dog. Junie seems selective about bigger dogs. She shares attention, toys, treats, etc well.
If you are looking for a sweet companion, please contact Junie''s foster mom with questions about Junie or would like to meet her, please contact her foster mom at You can also see more pictures and videos of Junie at

About Austin Animal Center

About Our Shelter...

Austin Animal Center is the largest open-intake animal shelter in central Texas and we work very hard to try to save 90% or more of the thousands of animals we shelter every year. We always need volunteers and both monetary and in-kind donations to help us in our sheltering and prevention activities. Visit our website to find out how you can help!

Come Meet Our Pets...

The Austin Animal Center is open for adoptions every day from 11:00am to 7:00pm. We're closed Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Thanksgiving Day to give our staff some time with family.
Interested adopters should come to the shelter during business hours to meet with a counselor start looking for a pet who'll be a good fit. Our counselors and volunteers are happy to help with that process.

Our Adoption Process...

Our standard Adoption fee for healthy, younger pets is $75. Pets over 5 years old have no adoption fee. Adoption includes a microchip and collar & tags, all the vaccinations a pet is old enough to receive, and spay or neuter surgery.
Adopters must be at least 18 yrs old with a current photo ID. Pets already in the home should have a current rabies vaccination and we may need to confirm permission for adoption from the owner of the property where an adopter lives.
