Romeo's Story...
Name: Romeo
Breed: Pekingese
Age: Adult
Gender: Male

Romeo is an adult male Peke who came to us when his owner passed away. He's an affectionate, smart, house trained little dog who likes women, kids and other dogs, but had a bad experience with a man so needs a home willing to help him overcome his fears with men. He's a mellower dog, likes walks but equally so likes just hanging out at home. He would prefer a house with a yard to an apartment as too much noise makes him nervous, and we think shared hallways and strangers outside every day would be too much for him. He is very loving, very gentle, and a perfect companion.

Requirements: No special requirements

You can email with questions and for a preadopt application. This dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated as age appropriate, tested for heartworm disease if age appropriate, and dewormed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Romeo, a Minneapolis Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pekingese for sale in Minneapolis, or seeking a Pekingese dog from a breeder in Minneapolis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Minneapolis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Minneapolis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pekingese breeders who help with Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Minneapolis paves the way for another one to be saved.
