I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Ruff, ruff, hellooo!! My name is Ella and if you’re reading this, then I bet I’m the dog for you! You see, I’m one of those dogs that could just fit in about anywhere! I like doggies, kitty cats, even tiny little humans. That’s right, I’m just a pretty all around good girl. I am about 5 years old. I used to be someone’s pet, but then one day they took me for a car ride and left me at the shelter. I’m not sure what I did wrong, but I was very sad and heartbroken there. I guess things are looking up for me now. Shortly after arriving at the shelter, VPFP found me a foster mommy and I went home with her. Now I am so happy and spoiled all the time and am just waiting for a home of my own! (approx 5 years old, 52 pounds 8/19/16)
VPFP is on a mission to educate the public on the misconceptions that go hand in hand with "pit bulls" we strive to match families with the perfect dog for their lifestyle and activity level to ensure that the adoption is a success for all involved. Pit bulls and mixes account for 58% of dogs in shelters and nearly 2800 are killed every day in the united states. We promote spaying and neutering in the community and encourage our adopters to use their dogs as ambassadors for this misunderstood class of dogs, by going out into the community and making a difference.

Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption fees vary from $50-$250 depending on the age of the animal, the amount of care provided, and the duration of their time in our rescue program. You can apply online via our website and we will be in touch with you in 48-72 hours. We do a reference check with your vet to make sure all animals in the home are current on vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered. We verify with landlords that the applicant can have a pet and there are no size or breed restrictions and finally we conduct a home inspection. Once approved there is an additional contract to sign stating that the adopter is taking over responsibility of the dog and that if at ANY time he/she is unable to care for the dog they must be returned to VPFP with ample notification to our board members.
