Important Note

Bella is best friends with Lucy. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
Meet Lucy and Bella! These sweet girls are 4.5 and 5.5 years old, respectively. Lucy is a bright little soul, and pulls people in with those big brown eyes of hers. She's a miniature pinscher Chihuahua mix who weighs approximately 13 pounds, and has the most gorgeous reddish-brown coat. Lucy just loves to be around people in general and to receive lots of belly rubs and kisses. Bella is the shyer Chihuahua of the duo. She came to us extremely overweight at about 26 pounds but so far with plenty of exercise and a normal diet she has already lost 11 pounds! She doesn't let her weight slow her down and is on her way to becoming fit as a fiddle and the outgoing, confident little girl we know she has the capability to be. Both dogs are house trained, non-barkers, up to date on all their vaccines/vet exams, spayed, and microchipped. Their foster says that they are the perfect house guests and overall just polite and easygoing dogs. They get along with her two other dogs (a German Shepherd and a Chihuahua) and love going on walks. Lucy and Bella would fit into any household perfectly, and all they need now is a permanent one that has plenty of time to shower them with love and affection. If you are interested in adopting Lucy and/or Bella, please email for an adoption application. All we want is to find these little ladies the best home they deserve. Please open your heart to these two, and you definitely won't be disappointed!

Adoption process includes application, interview, home visit, contract and donation.

Southern California adopters only.

About H.E.L.P. (A Home for Every Living Pet)

About Our Rescue Group...

Thousands of animals are euthanized each year in the Los Angeles City Shelters. This staggering figure doesn’t even include all other surrounding LA County shelters. Most of these animals were highly adoptable and have something in common: they have medical conditions such as broken legs, tumors, eye problems, skin issues or illness. These animals have been hit by cars, abused, or suffered serious neglect, or they are abandoned mothers with litters of unweaned puppies.

These shelter animals face an uncertain future. H.E.L.P assists adopters who are interested in a sick, elderly or injured shelter animal, but are discouraged by the potential high veterinary costs. We also assist individuals who adopt from the shelters and discover that their animal has a medical condition after adoption. We arrange for the animal to receive veterinary care and offer financial assistance to the adopter. If the adopter has already arranged for the animal to receive medical care, we reimburse the costs upon receipt of the veterinary bill and proof of treatment.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We show our adoptable animals at Petco every Saturday from 11 AM - 3 PM. Petco is located at 852 N Western Ave, San Pedro, CA 90732.

Our Adoption Process...

Each potential adopter of any animal is required to go through an adoption process that includes an application, contract and interview with one or more of our members. We make sure the potential adopter is aware of the medical, training and social needs of the animal; whether it is a growing puppy or an older animal. If the individual is approved, we will perform a home check to make sure that animal is going to a safe and good environment. The adopter agrees to return the animal to us at any point during their lifetime if they intend to give it up. We are committed to finding these animals great homes and screen our applicants very carefully.
