Oreo's Story...

An elderly man who wished he had thought it through asked for help finding another home for Oreo, a young pup who was just too active for him to keep up with.  He knew little Oreo would be growing and that he couldn't give him what he needed as far as play and exercise.  So he did the right thing for Oreo and turned him over to find an appropriate home.  Oreo is a cutie who wants to play and to be held and to romp.  Of course, he wants to play since he is only four months old!  He weighed 12.4 pounds on intake and seems to be a healthy pup, a lab and boxer mix.  Oreo wants a home where he can wear himself out and then take a nap on a soft bed, maybe even with a person to cuddle with him! He dreams of toys and bones and carrying sticks in a fenced yard.  Can you help his dream come true?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oreo, a Ripley Labrador Retriever/Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Boxer for sale in Ripley, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Boxer dog from a breeder in Ripley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ripley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ripley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Boxer breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ripley paves the way for another one to be saved.
