Fargo's Story...
Fargo is a 4 year old, 16 pound Shih Tzu. He is a love bug. He very much likes to be close to his human and follows direction well. You just have to be careful not to step on him as he may be underfoot without your knowledge : ) He loves to eat and take naps. He enjoys lots of cuddles and loves belly rubs.

He is a great traveler and does well in the car. He is mostly housetrained and is completely pad trained. Fargo’s foster mom would describe him as a couch potato. First thing in the morning he loves to go on walks to release energy and then hang out the rest of the day. He enjoys his walks and all the smells the environment provides him with! He loves being pet and will be playful with his human.

Fargo gets along with everyone, including other dogs. He would make an excellent companion to any person or family!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fargo, a New York Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in New York, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
