Facts about Sophie

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix
  • Color: Black - With White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 10482492

Sophie was discovered by a caring lady that saw her very skinny, on a chain, with no food or water.  After several attempts to get animal control to do something, she went to the owner who surrendered her right away.  She didn't even care to say, 'goodbye' to her :'(  This sweet girl sure has been through a lot.
She's currently on slow kill treatment for heartworms and once that's better under control, she will be spayed.  She's still a little timid, but extremely sweet.  She loves attention, but is still a little fearful of touch.  She'll still flinch when you go to pet her, but she really does love being near a loving person. For now, she seems to be a little guarded with her food around other dogs, although not with humans.  With all she's been through, it would be understandable if she didn't like anyone, but this sweet girl just has a heart of gold.  She wants so badly to trust and love and is willing to be brave enough to let it happen.
Ask about making this precious girl a part of your family today.  Adoption fee includes heartworm treatment until cleared, vaccines, dewormer, microchip and spay (after HW treatment).  You will have rescued a true gem with this little sweetie. Will you give this girl the wonderful life she deserves??

I will update with more pictures as she gains weight and gets more healthy.

About PJ's Place Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

PJ's Place is a foster based organization aimed at reducing the number of dogs in shelters and helping to educate the public about domestic pets, obedience, spay/neuter programs etc to keep these dogs in happy and healthy homes and out of shelters.

We are starting a neighborhood/area feeding program as well aimed at helping those in need to keep their animals feed during rough times.

We have a goal to also create a spay/neuter program that would offer these services for free or very reduced cost to eliminate unwanted litters.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We will post our regular adoption events as they happen and you can always set up an appointment to meet one of our great dogs! Since we are a foster based organization, there is not one place to go and meet all of the dogs except during our adoption events.

Our Adoption Process...

We have an application for you to fill out and then we will call you and set up an introduction with you, your family and other pets with the dog you are looking to adopt. Once everything looks good, there is an adoption contract along with and adoption fee ($150-$250) that helps us help the next animal in need and keep the rescue going.
