Information

Our cute little blond has the birth date of July 30, 2005. At the shelter she was listed as a stray so that is an estimate. She came to us in August 2015 in sad shape. She not only had medical issues, but she was terrified of people. And boy, has she come a long, long way!

First, Lucinda was heartworm positive, second, she had mammary tumors, third, she had not been spayed, and finally, she had eye issues.
She did fantastic with her heartworm treatments!! She had her tumors removed and was finally spayed!!

Since she is listed as a blind dog, lastly, she went to see her ophthalmologist. Her right eye, as he put it, had a cataract that exploded. It looks like a golden firework. But
Lucinda suffers no pain whatsoever, although she is totally blind. Her left eye is weak. She can see light and dark. We make sure when she's given anything (treats) it's on the left side.
She's great with other dogs and pays no attention to cats. She's good around children. And in general she's a laid back sweetie! She does well on walks and thoroughly loves to ride in the car. She is also good with people now. I believe she was in pain and had been mistreated as a breeder. She enjoys sitting and getting tummy and ear rubs. And she's happy to sleep on her bed or yours!

I don't think Lucinda would be as happy in a first time doggie home. I think someone with some experience would be best.

We hope you will consider making Lucinda part of your family! It will be, I promise, a win, win for all!!
And one more thing I totally forgot about until now, I just got a kiss! About an eighth of the right side of Lucinda's tongue has been bitten off! It doesn't bother or affect her in the least!
