Hi! My name is Serena and I am a beautiful one year old brindle hound mix. I am a 50 lb female
and already spayed and up-to-date on my vaccinations, heart worm preventative and flea/tick
medication. I am a moderate-energy dog who loves to go on long walks with my mom and
wrestle with my dog siblings.
My perfect forever home would be an active family who loves to go on walks and play with me,
or maybe even have a fenced in yard. My mom says I have excellent leash manners, except
when I see something that looks like fun to chase. Since I am part hound, I love to track and
chase small animals, like cats, bunnies and butterflies! I love to play with other dogs, although
sometimes I get a little shy and need some extra time to warm up to new friends. I'm a really
great wrestler and can hold my own with the big dogs! I really love playing with my other dog
friends. I'm not so sure about cats though. If they like to run, I like to chase them. However, if
they ignore me, swat me or just stay still, I will leave them alone. If my forever home has cats, I
will need an experienced owner to properly introduce me and keep an eye on me. I am also
okay with children. My foster family has a toddler and I tolerate her pretty well. She likes to give
me hugs and kisses and I am happy to return the favor. She also likes to drop food for me to
eat, so that really makes me like her!
My mom says I am doing great with my crate and potty training (I haven't had any accidents in
the house since I figured out the whole concept). I love to hang out in my crate with new toys
when my family has to leave for a little while. I feel safe in there and would like a family who will
continue this training with me. I am still getting used to being a house dog after my former life on
the street and I like it a lot so far. I will even relax now and sleep on my bed or hang out chewing
bones while my family watches TV. However, I am still learning the difference between my toys
and theirs, so I'm best left in a crate while unsupervised. My mom says that I am super smart
and easily trainable, whatever that means. I am a quiet dog, only barking when there is
someone I don't know coming to the door. I also love to chew and have very strong jaws, so my
perfect family would be able to provide me with lots of chew toys and bones to play with. I hope
you will consider adding me to your family!
