EMILY HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING. Emily is a sweet and loving 5 year-old Beagle/Doxie mix female who was adopted from us four years ago along with her brother Eddie. They were returned to us in August because their family’s circumstances had changed and they were no longer able to care for them. Emily came back to us very overweight but has worked hard in her foster home to get back into shape. She now is at her ideal weight of about 22 pounds (down from 37 pounds!) through a combination of diet and exercise. Her pics were taken recently and reflect her current appearance. Emily is very food-motivated so thanks to her foster mom for her diligence in keeping Emily on track. Emily will sit and shake hands for a treat and can catch treats on the fly like a pro. She has been enjoying healthy treats like green beans and carrots in her foster home and will need a new home where her family will commit to keeping her at a healthy weight. Emily is crate-trained and has had no accidents in her foster home. Emily is not bonded with Eddie so doesn’t need to be adopted with him. She does well with the other dogs in her foster home where she can run in a fenced yard with them but she can be very reactive with other dogs when she’s on a leash. This is something her new family must be willing to work with her on. She would probably prefer to be the only dog in her new home so she can get all the attention from her humans. Emily will chase and harass cats so must live in a kitty-free home. She loves her human friends and is very affectionate with them, doling out lots of kisses. She even likes to be held like a baby! Her adoption fee is $200. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. Emily had a recent dental cleaning and now flashes a pearly white smile. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Emily. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Please visit our website at www.caninelifeline.org to see more photos of Emily and to submit an online application.

About Canine Lifeline

About Our Rescue Group...

Canine Lifeline is an all volunteer 501(c)3 organization with a mission to save adoptable dogs from being euthanized at shelters due to overcrowding or treatable medical conditions such as heartworm. All of our dogs are in foster homes throughout northeast Ohio.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Canine Lifeline takes adoptable dogs to Petco in Macedonia most Sunday's. We also participate in many adoption events throughout the summer months. Please check our website at www.caninelifeline.org for the most current adoption event listing.

Our Adoption Process...

All Canine Lifeline dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations including a one-year rabies, and are on monthly heartworm preventative. In the warmer months of the year, our dogs are also on a flea and tick preventative. The adoption fee for dogs 7 months up to 7 years of age is $200. Senior dogs may be adopted for a reduced fee of $125. Puppies 6 months and under are $275. Since all of our dogs come from shelters and have been stray or abandoned at least once in their lives, we want to make sure that their next home is for keeps. That’s why each adoption comes with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a perfect match before the adoption is finalized.
