If you are interested in Kima please fill out our online application and we will schedule your home visit ASAP.
Kima is a beautiful red Malamute who is 4 yrs. old and weighs approximately 80 lbs. She is now in the care of WAMAL along with her pup Stormy. She lived with cats at one time but we hesitate to put her in a home with new cats. Kima walks nicely on leash but has no recall off leash yet. She is housetrained and well behaved indoors but likes to dig in the yard when she is bored. Kima knows her commands of sit down heel and wait at a distance. She has no food aggression with people but protects her food from the other dogs. She has no special needs other than a good handler that understands the breed as she will get away with things if you are not disciplined and a good leader. Kima is crate trained for short periods of time rides well in cars and likes to go places with you. She is friendly and affectionate and would love a home where she would get some real personal attention and continued training. A home with a person that is active daily would be great for Kima. She will do best with no small children or small dogs. Kima is very high energy and very toy motivated so easy to give her exercise on rainy days! She likes to be in charge and is a little dominant so may be best in a home as the only princess (one-dog family).
The adoption fee of $300 includes spay-neuter and all vaccines.
Kima is being lovingly cared for in Washington while she awaits her new forever home.

Alaskan Malamutes are warm and friendly, playful, gentle, intelligent and silly. Their exquisite beauty is the result of centuries of adaptation to the harsh Arctic climate where they lived as close companions to the Mahlemut Eskimos, pulling heavy sledges over terrible terrain in harsh weather.
Malamutes shed twice a year and should be brushed regularly. Since they are so large, they should never be left alone with small children unsupervised, though this is true of any dog.
Malamutes participate in many sports such as backpacking, weight-pulling, carting, sojourning and competition obedience. Their best-known feature is their extraordinary sweetness of temperament.
