Hi I'm Ms. Garrett!

I'm looking for a fur-ever home that will give me plenty of love and attention. My previous owner didn't get me spayed and then decided they didn't want me when they realized I was pregnant and dropped me off at a high-kill shelter. Thanks to the wonderful folks at DC PAWS & ADOPT - my babies and I were some of the few who made it out of the shelter and now have a chance at a happy life and loving home.

I'm now spayed and up to date on all of my shots and JUST looking for a family to love me and provide me with some training so I can become their perfect K-9 family member!

If you think I'd be a good fit for your family please submit an adoption application at

Ms. Garrett

Like most shelter dogs, Ms. Garrett may need a refresher on housetraining and crate training.

About DC PAWS Rescue

Our rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based dog and cat rescue in the DC area. We partner with a local rescuer in Pickens County, SC, who saves adoptable cats and dogs from the county’s animal control facility, which lacks the resources to facilitate adoptions to the public. Without a mechanism for local adoptions, all animals not claimed within the mandated hold period are euthanized. For the animals in this rural area, rescue is really the only lifeline. Our rescue partner not only works with DC PAWS to save as many dogs and cats as possible, but she has also established a successful spay/neuter clinic in the community to decrease the number of homeless and unwanted animals over the long term.

About DC PAWS Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

DC PAWS Rescue was formed to serve the interests of animals through activities such as animal rescue; providing sanctuary for abused animals; public education concerning the needs of animals in shelters, positive-reinforcement training for animals; placement of rescued animals in adoptive homes, and other related charitable activities.

Come Meet Our Pets...

At Adoption events listed on our website: and at foster homes, once an adoption application has been submitted and approved.

Please note that we are an all-volunteer organization and while it is our goal to respond to all emails we receive, we may not be able to do so due to the large volume of emails we receive. We recommend reviewing the animal's profile on our website and then submitting an adoption application as a first step. Thank you for considering adoption and DC PAWS Rescue!

Our adoption process entails:
1. An application
2. An interview
3. Vet check (if applicable)
4. Landlord check (if applicable)
5. Home visit

Our adoption fee is $350 for adult dogs or puppies; the adoption fee for senior dogs is $200. The adoption fee for kittens is $100, while the fee for adult cats is $135.
