Peanut's Info...

Peanut's Story...
There is a lot to love here! 75 pounds of a beautiful fox hound! This is Peanut the 6 year old boy that is in need of a new home. He is housebroken!! Great with other dogs (plays well at doggie daycare) and is very social. The family has a baby and another on the way in the near future. That is the only reason he is in rescue because he really is an awesome dog! Peanut is great with children, however, little babies crawling around are too much for this big guy. Peanut is very affectionate and friendly - come meet him soon!

We recommend and encourage you to complete an application at before coming to our next adoption event. To find out if I will be attending our next adoption event, please email

Adoption events are every Saturday, excluding holidays, at the Petco located at 11331 W. Broad Street, Glen Allen, VA (next to Trader Joe’s) from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Peanut, a Richmond Foxhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Foxhound for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Foxhound dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Foxhound breeders who help with Foxhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
