Georgia has been diagnosed with a partially torn ACL by 2 different veterinarians. She requires 6 weeks of restricted activity. This means crate rest until September 30th. She is only allowed outside long enough for short walks and for potty breaks. We highly recommend Kongs, Nylabones, and Antlers to help with boredom. She is on anti-inflammatory until 8/26/16. These recommendations have been made by both veterinarians we consulted. We are allowing her to be adopted with the following disclaimer:
Adopter agrees to the above recommendation and will follow these precise instructions. If her activity is not properly restricted it can further damage and completely tear her ACL. There's also another possibility that if the damage does get worse it can also effect the meniscus and surgery will be required. The estimates we have received are $2,200 & $3,500 for the surgery. Adopter agrees that if these restrictions are not followed and more damage is done and surgery is required the expense for the surgery will be solely the adopter's responsibility. Georgia will need to return to Second Chance Tuesday October 4th for a follow up exam by our veterinarian.

About Second Chance Animal Sanctuary

About Our Rescue Group...

For 25 years Second Chance Animal Sanctuary has been working to help homeless dogs and cats find their way into safe, permanent and loving homes. We promote animal welfare by providing rescue, proper veterinary care, and adoption for abandoned animals in Oklahoma.

Every animal has a story and many of those stories are heart-breaking, but in every case there is a common theme: an animal that deserves a second chance at life.

When you adopt, not only do you save the life of one animal, but it frees up critical space so that we can rescue a second pet. And of course, the life that is yours.

Our hours of operation are: Wed - Fri 12-6pm, Sat 10am-5pm and Sun 12-5pm. We are closed Mon & Tues.

Phone: (405) 321-1915

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fee is $125. All animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and kept on monthly flea/tick/ heartworm prevention. Dogs have been heartworm and tick disease tested and cats are fiv/fel leuk negative. We do require an adoption survey and signed contract for any adoption.
